The EA Access subscription comes on Steam, a bunch of Electronic Arts games are no longer looking for Origin as of today

Today, a bunch of older Electronic Arts games that were not previously available appeared on Steam, and the arrival of the EA Access subscription service was promised.

Electronic Arts and Valve buried the hatchet last year and it was announced that all EA titles would eventually come to Steam. Today is the day that I can buy and play on Steam for the first time: Plants vs Zombies Battle for Neighborville, Need for Speed Heat and Rivals, Dragon Age Inquisition, Crysis 3, Unravel Two, Burnout Paradise Remastered and Sea of Solitude. There are still no Apex Legends, Sims, Fife, or Battlefield, but that will follow later this summer.

And for the first time, a subscription service will be available on Steam. It will be EA Access, as part of which subscribers will get access to entire games, the ability to try out new titles, and the like. EA Access is currently available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, while on PC there is Origin Access in two versions - Basic and Premium. It is not yet clear whether EA Access for Steam will have a separate offer or the same as on the Origin. But, playing the games from the EA Access catalog will no longer require the Origin client/launcher, just as it is not needed on consoles.
