A new Metal Slug game has been announced, for mobile phones

The Chinese megacorporation Tencent has intertwined its fingers in your arcade childhood - Metal Slug announced Code: J.

We are still waiting for the announcement of the new Metal Slug game that is being made for consoles, as we found out back in 2019, but in the meantime, we have received the announcement of the mobile Metal Slug. The SNK publishing house has entered into a partnership with the Tencent megacorporation, and the result is that Metal Slug Code: J will one day come to iOS and Android devices.

The game is developed by Tencent's TiMi Studios, which promises a faithful recreation of the old classic. It will bring back famous characters, heavy artillery, and classic arcade gameplay. It only remains to be seen where they will insert microtransactions into the whole story. Admittedly, the game doesn’t look bad at all - it still has a 2D performance with distinctive aesthetics and an insane amount of shooting.

Release date Metal Slug Code: J is not yet known.
